Black Bean Veggie Burgers
The best homemade veggie burger recipe. Meat eater approved.

- 1 16 oz can Black beans Use low-sodium black beans for a healthier alternative
- 1/2 Green bell pepper - diced
- 1/2 Small onion - diced
- 2 cloves Garlic - peeled, diced
- 1 Egg; beaten
- 2/3 cup Bread crumbs or Panko crumbs
- 1 tablespoon Chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Drain liquid from beans; place in strainer and rinse. Dry.
Place beans in bowl and mash with fork or hands.
Place bell pepper, onion, and garlic in a food processor until finely chopped. Or dice by hand.
Add mixture to beans.
Add spices. Mix.
Add beaten egg. Mix.
Stir in crumbs.
Form burger sized patties. Cook.
Recomemmended: Individually package patties in foil and freeze before cooking. This makes the patty easier to cook on a grill.
