Cows are known to attack and kill people that wandered onto their pastures—like hikers, joggers, and cyclists.
Cows attack by kicking, trampling, and goring.
On average, there are around 20–22 deaths by cow every year in the United States. That is higher than the yearly average of 5 people killed by sharks in the U.S. In 2023, there were two shark related fatalities.
Therefore, more people die from cow attacks than shark attacks.
Be sure to always practice safe practices around animals in the wild and on the farm.
