The annual precipitation for the Mojave Desert typically ranges from 3.5 inches at lower elevations to nearly 10 inches in the mountains.

Back-to-back winter storms in California have blanketed some areas with up to 7 feet of snow.

Because of increased rain and snow in the state, the central Sierra and foothills are now officially free of drought for the first time since January 2020. The central coast is also drought free.
