How to Help a Turtle Cross the Road

If you see a turtle trying to cross the road and you want to help, here’s how: 

  • Pull over safely if driving 
  • Move the turtle in the direction it was headed
  • Pick it up by the back of the shell with two hands
  • Watch out for any claws or biting 
  • Clean your hands
