Space weather forecasters have issued a geomagnetic storm watch through Monday, March 25, 2024. A Geomagnetic storm from a solar flare may push northern lights into the United states and disrupt radio communications. This is fairly normal and is no reason for concern.
Aurora forecasters at the Geophysical Institute, weather permitting, highly active auroral displays will be visible overhead from Inuvik, Yellowknife, Rankin and Iqaluit, to Portland OR, Cheyenne, Lincoln, Springfield, and New York City, and visible low on the horizon as far south as Carson City, Oklahoma City, and Raleigh.
