A lion’s roar can reach up to 114 decibels. This is about as loud as a jet plane taking off or as loud as a Taylor Swift concert.

Lion roars can be heard for up to 5 miles away.

Lions roar to communicate with each other and to establish territory so that they can remain unbothered.
