Octopuses have highly developed brains. And have been found to have sophisticated problem-solving abilities, such as being able to open jars and solve mazes.  They also have excellent camouflage skills that allow them to blend into their environment and hide from predators.

Gloomy octopuses will throw things when their personal space is invaded

Published in 2022, this is the first footage of their outbursts. Yes, their name is actually Gloomy Octopus. Or the Common Sydney Octopus or Octopus tetricus.  The Gloomy Octopus will surround itself with shells, rocks, algae, and other debris that it will use to throw to defend its space.

Blanket Octopuses will rip off their penis for the female to use alone

and then they die. Sometimes female octopuses will eat the males before they’re able to mate. Because of this, the male blanket octopus will mate from a distance with a detachable penis. After successful reproduction the male octopus will die within months.
