Spanish dancer sea slugs get their name from their resemblance to the traditional dresses of Spanish dancers

Spanish dancers prefer being in the dark waters of the ocean and they like to eat sponges. Spanish dancers are a type of nudibranch which is a mollusk that loses its shell. They are around 10in/ 25cm long.

They’re about 4in/ 102mm long and feed on plankton and small crustaceans floating in the water. They can be found clinging to kelp and sea grass.
