Moose Can Dive Almost 20 Feet Underwater And Hold Their Breath For About A Minute While Looking For Aquatic Plants

Updated on April 11, 2024July 31, 2023

Moose are good swimmers and will rely on foraging on underwater plants to supplement their diets. Aquatic plants are usually richer in nutrients and minerals than plants on land. Moose are actually saving ecosystems by moving key nutrients like nitrogen from the water to the land by eating underwater plants and pooping on land.
