June’s Strawberry Moon will be at its lowest and largest in the sky as it will be until 2043–it was last this low in 2006.

The June full Moon is named the Strawberry Moon

The Strawberry Moon gets its name from the wild strawberry season in North America. Other names for the Strawberry Moon include the Blooming Moon, Green Corn Moon, and Birth Moon.

The June 2025 Full Strawberry Moon will reach peak illumination on June 11, 2025, at 3:44 a.m. EDT

The Strawberry Moon will begin to rise after sunset on June 10 and may appear orange or red due to the reflection of light off Earth’s atmosphere. The moon will be at its highest at midnight and low in the southwest as it sets around sunrise. The full moon always rises after sunset.

The Strawberry Moon will be next to the bright red star, Antares, which is the “Heart of the Scorpion” in the constellation Scorpius
