Electric disco clams will flash their predators to confuse them

Also called the electric-flame scallop and electric clam, disco clams are actually reflecting back sunlight via silica in their soft tissues. 

This creates a strobing flash very much like the mirrors of a disco ball. 

Or maybe its because they like to party…
