During the February 28 New Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will align across the sky.

A planetary alignment, or planatary parade, happens occasionally when four or five planets appear visible in the same part of the sky. It is rare for all seven planets to line up at once. The next alignment won’t be visible until 2040.

Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn will be easily visible to the naked eye. You’ll need binoculars or a telescope to see the others. Read more →
